So What are Parabens?

Hey Baddies!

Happy September! We wanted to cover a question we get a lot and that is "What are Parabens?" Parabens are a category of chemical preservatives that are used in beauty products. Parabens have been used in beauty products since the 1920s and are heavily used in shampoos, skin care products, lipsticks and other makeup products to increase their shelf life. The term paraben-free is to let customers know there are no harmful chemicals used in their formulas.

Parabens can interfere with the hormone balance in your body. This is because Parabens can copy the hormone estrogen and affect the way your body hormones regulate. Parabens can easily soak into your skin and when applying it everyday with makeup it can cause the parabens to multiply. When you are exposed to parabens repeaditly over time, it may increase the growth of breast cancer cells.

This is one of the many reasons why we do not use parabens in our products! We priortize the best formulas and want all of our baddies to be informed so they know what they are putting on their face! If you’re unsure if a product is paraben-free, check the ingredients list. Methylparaben, propylparaben, and butylparaben are three of the most common paraben ingredients.

Also, all of our products are cruelty free. We will never test on animals. We love our fur babies and prioritize better ways of testing. We also use natural ingredients in our formulas and strive to provide you with products that are good for you...literally.

We hope this helped answer any questions regarding parabens and what paraben-free means. We always put our baddies first. We hope you have an amazing Labor Day weekend!

We love you 💞
