Benefits of the Dreamy Lip Mask

Dear Baddies,
We hope you are having a good start to your week. We can't believe it's almost New Years. Where did the time go?! As we embrace winter, we wanted to talk about the benefits of lip masks, specifically our Dreamy Lip Mask.
No matter the instance, we've all likely noticed that our lips can be super sensitive. Did you know our lip structure differs from other skin structures on our bodies. We have three main layers of skin which consists of:
  • the epidermis (stratum corneum) which is the outer protective layer
  • the dermis which contains hair follicles, sweat glands, and connective tissue
  • the hypodermis (deeper subcutaneous tissue) which is the internal skin layer and is made of fat and connective tissue
While our lips do have three layers of skin the top layer, epidermis, is A LOT thinner. Baddies, did you know the reason our lips give off a red tint is because the epidermis is so thin our blood vessels show through the thin layer!
Our lips middle layer, the dermis, is also thinner so your lips aren't able to produce as much melanin. Because of this, your lips can burn easier and you are more likely to get sun damage.
Also, your lips do not have sweat glands so your lips obviously do not sweat. Honestly thank god..lol. However, since there are no sweat glands our lips get dry and chapped much easier than the rest of our bodies.
Since your lips are more sensitive and prone to damage, taking proper care of them is vital to the longevity of your lips. Applying a lip mask daily will help reduce dryness and will keep them moisturized throughout your day. Our lip mask includes ingredients that contain a variety of benefits and ones that moisturize your lips.

Tocopherol, which you probably know as Vitamin E, has many health benefits. Vitamin E is one main ingredient in our lip mask and it helps to strengthen your skin’s barrier. So when you choose lip care with Vitamin E, your lips can stay fuller and more youthful-looking for longer. Vitamin E is fat-soluble, which means it has the ability to dive deep down into your skin and preserve the lipids (fats) in your lips. This makes Vitamin E a great hydrator, it seals moisture inside your lips while aiding in slowing down dehydration. Vitamin E can also help close up any painful cracks that are caused by dryness and cold weather. Vitamin E is a natural antioxident which neutralizes any environmental elements that could hurt your skin, which include cigarette smoke, air pollution, etc. so by choosing a lip mask with Vitamin E your also adding an element of skincare in your makeup routine. Hell yes!

Sodium Hyaluronate is another main ingredient in our Dreamy Lip Mask. Sodium Hyaluronate has a variety of benefits and overall helps your skin look youthful and glowing. The main benefits of Sodium Hyaluronate is that it helps moisturize the skin, reduces appearance of wrinkles, reduces skin inflammation and helps heal wounds. Also, Sodium Hyaluronate helps moisturize the skin by attracting moisture in the cell. This increases skin hydration and reduces dryness. Compared to HA (Hyaluronic acid), sodium hyaluronate can provide a greater hydrating effect. This is due to its low molecular weight, according to a 2019 report

As you can see, there are many health advantages these ingredients provide. When combining the two ingredients and applying them daily, you can reap a variety of benefits and say goodbye to dry, chapped lips!

A baddie tip is to exfoliate your lips at night, dry them completely and then apply the Dreamy Lip Mask. Leave the mask on overnight and wake up to refreshed, moisturized lips! You can apply the lip mask in the morning and throughout the day. It's a perfect size, it can travel easily with you if wanted/needed.

We wanted to say thank you to all the baddies who donated with us in our Holiday Giveaway. We truly appreciate the donations and we know the children will even more. We hope you all have Happy Holidays and a FUN New Years Eve!
